Proprietary Wireless Access/Backhaul
Solutions
Providing high capacity, low cost, long
range, packet based, and efficient
backhauling solutions has become critical
for enabling and driving the expansion of
IP-based broadband access. As the majority
of telecommunication technologies are all
emerging to be IP-based; it has become
critical to have backhauling solutions with
built-in Ethernet-based interfaces to
provide direct integration with
IP-over-Ethernet access technologies which
represent the vast majority of current
broadband access solutions. In addition, the
accelerating demand for data services
compared to the voice services has made the
need for packet-based statistical
multiplexing over the backhauling solutions
very necessary to ensure efficient
utilization of the deployed resources and
capacities.
Makamin carries two non-overlapping product
lines for wireless backhauling where each
product line is best suited for a specific
industry vertical. Providing high capacity,
low cost, long range, packet based, and
efficient backhauling solutions has become
critical for enabling and driving the
expansion of IP-based broadband access. As
the majority of telecommunication
technologies are all emerging to be
IP-based; it has become critical to have
backhauling solutions with built-in
Ethernet-based interfaces to provide direct
integration with IP-over-Ethernet access
technologies which represent the vast

solutions. In addition, the accelerating
demand for data services compared to the
voice services has made the need for
packet-based statistical multiplexing over
the backhauling solutions very necessary to
ensure efficient utilization of the deployed
resources and capacities.
The first product line is the Packet-Based
Point-to-Multipoint Microwave Cellular
Solution from Cambridge Broadband & Spectrum
Communication. It operates in
the licensed bands of 3.5 GHz, 10.5 GHz, &
26 GHz & is the perfect solution for
backhauling 2G, 3G, & WiMAX base stations
due to its capability for carrying both TDM-based
traffic and packet-based traffic at the same
time with built-in highly effective
compression for the voice (TDM) traffic.
Wireless backhaul based on Microwave
technologies have proven to be a reliable
and cost effective alternative to wire line
counterparts (copper and fiber), offering
the required capacity and range with minimal
associated civil works and permits.
Key Features
-
Fully redundant Base Station (1+1) and
CPEs (1+1)
-
Integrated optimization for TDM (E1), 2G
(Abis) & 3G (Iub) services.
-
Full QoS support for IP, E1 & TDM
services (including very low latency for
delay sensitive applications)
-
Multi-Frequency Platform (3.5 GHz, 10.5
GHz, 18, 26 & 32 GHz)
-
Fully symmetric radio links (power,
modulation & bandwidth)
-
Class leading spectral efficiency (up to
4.0 b/s/Hz net)

The second product line is the Packet-Based
Point-to-Multipoint Pre-WiMAX Solution from
Redline Communications. This product line
operates in the licensed band 3.5 GHz &
unlicensed bands of 5.4 GHz. Thos product
line is the perfect solution for backhauling
small to medium enterprise customers, site
offices, and institutions with offices
scattered over large and underserved areas.
The RedMAX, WiMAX product line received the
Fixed WiMAX certification from the WiMAX
Forum in January 2006 which was the first
WiMAX certification in the history of WiMAX
industry. Thus, there can be no WiMAX
references by any company in the world
before that date. However, there can be Pre-WiMAX
references, and this is where Makamin has
one of the richest Pre-WiMAX experience and
references in the Middle East and North
Africa.
IP-based GSM Picocell Solution
The concept of “Pico-cell” solution is well
defined in the 3GPP association and well
known in the mobile industry. The
“Pico-Cell” provides GSM operators a simple
solution for enhancing capacity and coverage
levels in hotspot “indoor” areas with
minimal interference on the micro/macro
“outdoor” coverage.
By providing a pico-cell with IP
connectivity, mobile operators can
immediately provide hotspot coverage and
capacity where required with minimum cost
and time. The direct cost savings come from
backhaul savings since a pico-cell based on
IP backhaul can utilize spare capacity in
existing broadband connections. In addition,
the size of such a solution prevents the
deployment team from going through the time
consuming process of permitting and
installation thus enabling mobile operators
to provide coverage on time.
This solution is expected to make an appeal
for mobile operators (especially startups)
in countries where broadband penetration is
moderate.
ip.access has a strong reference which
includes operators like: T-Mobile USA, Smart
in the Philippines, Telfort (now KPN) in the
Netherlands and Eurotel in the Czech
Republic.
Key Features
-
Rapid installation using existing IP
infrastructure
-
Standard radio interface compatible with
all GSM handsets
-
Multi-TRX capability to support large
numbers of users
-
Typical indoor coverage up to 125,000m2
-
Excellent data rates with GPRS support
-
Single10/100 Ethernet connection
incorporating power, traffic and
signaling
-
Smallest footprint in the industry
IP based PBX System
Unlike the well-known TDM based classic PBX
systems, IP Based PBX provides VoIP platform
as a standard to the users. All of the users
connected to the system can communicate with
each other and their office free of charge
while they are outside of the office via
using IP media. It's features include many
functions that does not exist in many
advanced switchboards or that can be owned
with additional costs.
Besides the standard PBX features, the IP
PBX provides an advanced reporting system,
auto attendant, voice recording, tele-conference
and Mail server within the system. The
structure of the system enabling direct
connection to the UMTH operators increases
the value added characteristic of VoIP in
your office thanks to private and general
calling scheme.
